The Pipavav port is situated in one of the region named as Saurashtra in Gujarat area. The port was the first Indian port which was running under the private sector. The largest stake-owner of the port is APM Terminals. The infrastructure of the port is remarkable in terms of handling containers and bulk cargoes. Till date the port had handles approximately 20 million tons of cargo and around Rs.7billions have been used in developing the port in much better manner.
The growth plan of the port consists of plan of expanding a new cargo, and a container terminal. Direct main line services are been used by the port to offer services to Europe and US every week. The facilities provided by the port include bulk cargo and container handling. The cranes at the port are attached with the conveyor belt which is later on connected with dry cargoes to the storage areas.
