The mission of the port is to match the International standards along with cut-throat rates. The port is fully equipped with state-of the art machines and new technologies and is efficient in each and every manner which is also backed with computer applications which prove to be very much useful for the users. High security and safety measures are also followed at the Port in an efficient manner. There are regular development principles undertaken by the port authorities. The port operators are very much courteous with the customers.
There are mainly two types of services undertaken by the Port namely: Marine Services and Shipping Services. In the Marine Services, regular checking and inspection is carried out for the betterment of the health of the workers and the society. The port has newly launched the provision of night long sailing which helps in increasing the overall productivity of the Port. The Shipping services help in smoothing the routes for the ships to sail.
As per the forecast of the port the future seem to be very much bright as the traffic is expected to grow in coming time; for this the container berth will be extended. Along with the other existing container; a fourth one is also developed for the betterment of the port. The vessels which are used for different activities on the port are big enough to cater the present needs, but after analyzing the future the Port authorities have decided to deepen and widen the vessels, which will be more useful at the Port. The connectivity through Rail and Road is also a major concern in the development of the Port activities.
