Milk has an unpleasant odor due to cows feeding on undesirable plant life.These odors need to be removed before the milk can go to market. Our low maintenance liquid ring pumps effectively remove the unpleasant odor by best enabling the vacuum process, which causes the odor producing gases to be released. In this vacuum process, steam under pressure is added to the milk, and the temperature is increased to 190°F.This mixture is sprayed through a nozzle into a chamber where it flash-cools to 160°F at 20" Hg vacuum. Our liquid ring vacuum pump is ideal to create this 20" Hg vacuum and is simply and robustly constructed to handle the condensate.
