Bauxite is the principal ore of aluminum, composed mainly of hydrous aluminum oxides and aluminum hydroxides. These minerals are gibbsite, boehmite, and diaspore. Bauxite is a weathering product of aluminous rock that results from intense leaching in tropical and subtropical areas, a process called laterization. This bauxite is heated at a very high temperature to get calcined bauxite.
