* Develop new markets that may require re-purposing the product, for example, developing a vertical industry version.
* Experiment with new selling models that may require a different "skinned" version of the product, for example, a hosted Web version.
* Build channel partnerships that may require integration with partner products.
* Evaluate new technologies that may have to be integrated into the product (or) replace existing technologies in the product.
* Allow customers to migrate existing systems (potentially legacy systems) to the product offering and ensure functional compatibility with older products.
* License new technologies that may require integration into the product.
* Rapid deployment of product at client sites, including training and support.
