Solvent cement set and cure times are a function of pipe size, temperature and relative humidity. Curing time is shorter for drier environments, smaller sizes and higher temperatures. It requires 10 to 20 minutes for perfect joint.
Note: For sizes above 65 mm (2 ½) use IPS 70 primer applying solvent cement. The purpose of a primer is to penetrate and soften the surfaces so they can use together. The proper use of a primer ensure that the surfaces are prepared for fusion in a wide variety of weather conditions.
