Dakor is a temple town sacred to Lord Krishna. Dakor is in Kheda district. Krishna here is worshiped as Ranchhodrai. He got the name as he pretended to escape from Kalyanvan, an ally of Jarasandh and finally got him burnt in Mt. Girnar. It came about this way Muchkund, asking who was tired after helping gods in their fight with demons was taking rest in a cave. He had a boon that anybody who disturbed him would be reduced to ashes. Krishna cleverly led Kalyanvan to the cave and brought about his end. Krishna image said to be the original from Dwarka, was brought here by a devotee and installed in the temple of Ranchodrai.
On every Sharad Puinama a big fair is held at Dakor. Gujaratis venerate Krishna and Dakor provides an important link in this.
