The GMT CMM

The GMT CMM is the culmination of decades of experience in metrology and machine tools. These CMM's combine accuracy with functionality and practicality and are the ideal measurement systems for small-to-medium sized general mechanic and prismatic components.

A wide variety of accessories that are state-of-the-art and suited for all dimensional inspection tasks are available. All GMT 3D CMM's are designed and manufactured with proven technology and come fitted with air bearings to ensure accuracy, reliability and repeatability.

The structure of the machine has been designed such that it accurate to less than 5 microns. Computer Aided Accuracy and upgradation to Direct Computer Controlled (DCC) are possible.

Dimensional stability in a wide temperature range makes granite one of the best known natural materials used in dimensional metrology. GMT has 4 decades of experience in finishing granite for this application.

Type

Bridge type CMM with stationary table and moving bridge placed on an ergonomically designed machine table. Machine base, cross beam and Z-axis are made of rigid granite. All axis with friction free air bearings.

The drive unit and scale of the X and Y-axis are protected by a bellow. The GMT Manual CMM can be easily upgraded to the CNC version at a later date as user needs change and inspection demands increase. Individual axis locking system is provided for Manual CMM's.

RETROFITTING

Manual CMM retrofits
GMT retrofits all manual bridge type coordinate measuring machines. The retrofit option provides 'plug and play' with existing machine scales and probing system and leaves the original mechanical structure intact.

DCC CMM retrofits

The Controller at the heart of a CMM upgrade offers significant improved CMM productivity and provides the unique scanning capabilities obtained with the Renishaw , SP25 and SP80 Analogue Scanning Probes. The compact servo chassis allows a complete DCC retrofit to be completed in a few short days minimizing CMM down-time. No controller cards are located inside the PC allowing PC upgrades at any time without having to contend with PC-BUS obsolescence – an all too frequent occurrence due to the pace of PC innovation.

The Teach Box has function keys, many of which are programmable, and allow software access directly from the box. Including using the use of the Joystick as a remote mouse. Part coordinates joy sticking, axis reversal, axis locks, indexing head and speed control are just some of its integrated functions. 

CMM SOFTWARE UPGRADE
Improve the accuracy and efficiency of your existing CMM at a fraction of the cost of a new CMM. Using old or obsolete CMM can result in inaccuracies and rejections. Inspection equipment, especially high cost coordinate measuring machines (CMM) cannot be replaced easily.

CALIBRATION
Our highly skilled factory trained technicians calibrate and certify your CMM. We calibrate CMM of all makes and configurations.

CMM Calibration Facilities: Fully equipped with precision calibration equipment like Koba Step Gauges and Renishaw Laser Interferometer, GMT ensures that all CMM's are calibrated to international standard.

Standard for calibration : In general, GMT tests and evaluates CMM products using the international standard, ISO 10360-2. It is possible to provide certificates according to other standards upon customer request at the time of placing the order.
