AGR-1 (Alternator Voltage Regulator)

Electronic Alternator Voltage Regulator is product of M/s Hipo Power System. AGR - 1 is full wave phase controlled thyristor type AVR & forms part of excitation system for brush-less/slip ring type generator. Use of high efficient & sensitive semiconductors, positive voltage build-up is ensured from lower residual voltage level. AGR -1 derives power from main stator & senses the average value of either two phases or single phase. AGR-1 provides under-speed excitation protection, by reducing the output voltage proportionally with speed below a preset threshold.

CONTROLS :

V – Set. To adjust generator output voltage. Clockwise rotation, increases output voltage.

Stab. To prevent voltage hunting. Clockwise rotation, increases damping effect.

U/F Set. To set under frequency knee point. Clockwise rotation, increases knee point setting.

IMPORTANT :

· The discrete power component TYN 1225/612 and diode 6A10 can be replaced if failed.

· CHANGE THE SWITCH & DO SHORT (LINK) ‘V’ & ‘N’ FOR 1- PHASE OPERATION.

CAUTION :

Ø Isolate AVR while flashing or insulation testing of the Alternator.

Ø Installation and adjustment must be carried-out by skilled technician only.
