AVR-5 (Alternator Voltage Regulator)

This AVR is full wave phase controlled thyristor type AVR & forms part of excitation system for brush-less /slip ring type generator. Use of high efficient & sensitive semiconductors, positive voltage build-up is ensured from lower residual voltage level. This AVR derives power from main stator & senses the average value of two phases.This AVR provides under-speed excitation protection, by reducing the output voltage proportionally with speed below a preset threshold.

CONTROLS :

V – Set. To adjust generator output voltage. Clockwise rotation increases output voltage.

Stab. To prevent voltage hunting. Clockwise rotation increases damping effect.

U/F SET To set ufro nee point. Clockwise rotation increases nee point setting.

O/L SET To limit, max. DCV at F+,F- Clockwise rotation increases DCV limit.

IMPORTANT :

The discrete power component TYN 1225 and diode 20ETS12 can be replaced if failed.
