CTR-2 (Alternator Voltage Regulator)

INTRODUCTION:

Electronic Alternator Voltage Regulatoris product of M/s Om Power System. CTR -2 is half wave phase controlled thyristor type AVR & forms part of excitation system for brush-less generator. Use of high efficient & sensitive semiconductors, positive voltage build-up is ensured from lower residual voltage level. CTR-2 derives power from main stator & senses the average value of two phases for batter regulation under unbalance load condition. CTR-2 providesunder-speed excitation protection, by reducing the output voltage proportionally with speed below apre settable threshold.

CONTROLS :

V – Set. To adjust generator output voltage. Clockwise rotation increases output voltage.

Stab. To prevent voltage hunting. Clockwise rotation increases damping effect.

U/F Set. To set ufro knee point. Clockwise rotation increases knee point setting.

O/L Set(Op.) To set over excitation voltage. Clockwise rotation increases excitation limit.

IMPORTANT :

The discrete power component TYN 1225/612 and diode 20ETS12 can be replaced if failed.

CAUTION :

Isolate AVR while flashing or insulation testing of the Alternator.

Installation and adjustment must be carried-out by skilled technician only.
