CTR-4 (Alternator Voltage Regulator)

Electronic Alternator Voltage Regulator is product of M/s Om Power System. CTR -4 is 3-phase half wave phase controlled thyristor type AVR & forms part of excitation system for generator. Use of high efficient & sensitive semiconductors, positive voltage build-up is ensured from lower residual voltage level. CTR-4 derives power from main stator & senses the average value of two phases for batter regulation under unbalance load condition. CTR-4 providesunder-speed excitation protection, by reducing the output voltage proportionally with speed below a pre settable threshold.

CONTROLS :

V – Set. To adjust generator output voltage. Clockwise rotation increases output voltage.

Stab. To prevent voltage hunting. Clockwise rotation increases damping effect.

U/F set. To set ufro knee point. Clockwise rotation increases knee point setting.

O/L set To limit the excitation voltage. Clockwise rotation increases exct. voltage.

IMPORTANT :

Ø The discrete power component TYN 1225, 20ETS12 and 40HMR120 can be replaced if failed.

Ø Provide Extra fuse protection in ‘U’ phase of AVR. It is required for 40Amp. rating AVR only.

CAUTION :

Ø Isolate AVR while flashing or insulation testing of the Alternator.

Ø Installation and adjustment must be carried-out by skilled technician only.
