Two component flexible waterproofing coating

Description

Ultrashield is a two component flexible acrylic polymer cementitious waterproofing coating that is mixed on site and resurfaced on concrete and other construction materials to waterproof. Ultrasheild has excellent weathering resistance and crack bridging weathering resistance and crack bridging property.

Coverage

All concrete and cement substrates shall be saturated with clean water before applying Ultrashield waterproof coating. No free standing water is present during application.

Surface Preparation

All substrates shall be sound and free from dust, excess mortar, oil or other loose particles. Cracks or honeycombs shall be repaired using suitable cement mortar.

Mixing

Empty liquid component in a clean container and slowly add the powder component whilst stirring using a slow speed (500-600 rpm) electric drill with a suitable paddle. Minimal amount of water may be added to ease application only when necessary. Small amount may be hand-mixed separately. Mix until homogeneous slurry is obtained and make sure that no unmixed powder is left at the bottom of the container.

Performance properties

Placing

The mixed Ultrashield can be applied onto the prepared substrate using a bristle brush or block brush. The application of Ultrashield waterproofing can be done in one or two coats depending on the manufacturer’s specification. When more than one coat is necessary to achieve the desired thickness, apply the subsequent coats after 1-2 hours, apply the subsequent coats after 1-2 hours curing of the previous coat at wet film thickness of 1 mm and no more than 1.5 mm. Allow 18 hours curing of the finishing coat (subject to touch dry) before laying screed or tilling. Water test can be conducted after the same duration.
