The company was incorporated in 1989 when the whole of the Punjab was burning in militancy. At that time an idea was born in the mind of our worth Managing Director to provide bullet proof protection to the security forces fighting the militants. Our managing director combined his professional and technical skills with the latest technologies available to develop bullet proof steel at the unit located at Jalandhar (Punjab). Successful Ballistic tests were carried out as per NIJ standard 0101.03 against various threat by the following approved Govt. Organizations such as Terminal Ballistic Laboratory, Bureau of Police Research and Development and Defense Research Development Organization and the same was introduced for commercial production for Bullets Proofing of vehicles & for manufacturing of other security products. With the pace of development, laggar Industries Ltd. Today are the manufacturers of world’s lightest Bullet Proof Steel having thickness of 5mm and 4mm for protection against 7.62 SLR AK-47 respectively.

The bullet proofing unit of laggar industries ltd is located on the national highway (NH 1) covering an area of above 75000 Sq. m consisting of Steel Manufacturing Plant (Furnace, Rolling Mill, Steel Testing Lab.), body demolition workshop and finishing workshop which guarantees quality work of International Standard. The Company has been recently awarded with ISO 9001:2000 certificate by M/s NORSK AKKREDITERING QUAL 007 (a leading international company of Norway) for Quality manufacturing of Armour & Special Steel & Fabrication Work of Structures, Steel furniture & Security Products.

APPROVALS:

The Bullet Proof Steel and Products manufactured by the company have been subjected to various Ballistic Tests by the various Govt. Agencies such as Defence Research Development Organization (Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India), Terminal Ballistic Research Laboratory (Ministry of Defence, Govt. Of India), Bureau of Police Research and Development (Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India), Ordinance Factory, Medak, Andra Pradesh, BSF Headquarters Jammu range, Punjab State Police, J & K State Police, Manipur State Police, Bihar State Police. The process of Ballistic testing for the every lot of modified material is continuously been going on throughout the year through these Agencies. The Products manufactured by the company have also been approved by the world renowned company in Bullet Proofing M/s Industries Font auto spa of Italy for its Quality and Rates. Our CIF Rates of Bullet Proof Steel kit in various gauges in has been considered as lowest in the International Market . Royal Army Bhutan, Govt. Of Bhutan has also appreciated the Quality and Rates of our Bullet Proof Steel, Security Products and Fabrication jobs. The Govt. of Bhutan has allowed us to participate in the development of Bhutan and have allowed us to directly participate in their National building activities . The Company is also in the process of Getting approvals certificates form various Asian countries of supply of Bullet Proof Kit, Fabrication of Bullet Proof Vehicles, and supply of security products of allied nature.
