Submersible Motor

‘KINASHA’ electrical 6” re-windable motors are the quality drive for your submersible pump. Water lubricated thrust and radial bearings offer you maintenance free, long life submersible motor operation. The sand fighter seal system is provided for application in aggressive media, motors can be supplied with SS 316 construction. Motors have excellent low voltage characteristics and high starting torque.

Overview

‘KINASH‘KINASHA’ wet type motors are of the squirrel cage induction type, suitable for Three Phase operation when completely immersed in water. They are of re-windable type.

The motors can be coupled with all types of redial and mixed flow type pump bodies for civil, industrial and agricultural purposes.

Motors have a coupling flange and shaft end as per ‘NEMA’ standard.

Installation

Wet - type motors are usually installed vertically or slightly inclined. If suitable precautions are adopted, they can be installed horizontally too.

During operation, the motor must always be completely immersed in water and water must flow freely over the surface of the motor, thus keeping the motor cool at all times.

The wet type motor can operate continuously at rated output as long as the voltage and frequency of the power supply are normal.

Special Features

Thrust Bearings: Thrust bearings are Kingsburry type with oscillating pads mounted in a seating and self aligning spherical support. The thrust bearing is water lubricated and made of friction free Graphite / Carbon. Motors are also provided with counter thrust bearing that can stand against a thrust of 30% of the normal axial load for short period.
Bush Bearings: Rotor guiding bush bearing is water lubricated and made of friction - free Bronze / Carbon.
Seals: Mechanical Seal with Carbon- Ceramic surface combination are used for all motors. The Mechanical seals are protected by means of suitable sand protecting ring.
Winding: The windings are made of insulated copper wire with non-hydroscopic thermoplastic compound ensuring high dielectric strength.
Power Cable: The power cable are of flat type and have PVC insulation with thick protecting sheath.
Supply Voltage: Standard motors are suitable for Three Phase operation with voltage of 400 volts at 50 Hz frequency and custom built 60 Hz design with various Voltage combination are also available.
