Where a conventional 6 lobe serration is used under the countersunk head, it bores into the board and creates a large hole. It eventually provides a tight fit gives in when the dust comes loose due to over driving of the fasteners. This problem is especially prone when boards are used with light gauge steel.

CORROSHIELD multi-edged design jobs into the board and even if the dust were to come loose, the multi-edge is design to pierce into the board for more stable grip. Plus, the design also acts like a gauge to prevent over driving of the fasteners.
