SKF PK 1600-40

SKF PK 1600-40
Product Description
The pendulum arm is adjusted to the correct height position by means of the height setting screw 16, and securely located in this position by the locking screw 15.

The loads for the top rollers are provided by the associated weighting elements 8,9,10 and 11. By form fit of the top roller arbor in the retaining spring 12, the top roller is held in its guide arm and secured against dropping. Each weighting element is attached to the frame 6 by means of a screw 4 and a washer 5. After loosening the screw, the weighting element with its associated top roller can be reset in a guide slot, within the limits determined by practical spinning requirements; the setting is continuous.

INSTALLATION AND SETTING OF PENDULUM ARMS

For installing and setting of pendulum arms, the tools and gauges mentioned must be used and the instructions given in this sheet observed.

Fit all the pendulum arms of the machines on their support rod, then fix the top roller settings on one of them and fit the top rollers - by exerting slight upward pressure on the roller arbor - in their respective weighting elements. If top rollers have to be taken out again, give the retaining spring slight backward pressure.

DRAFT FIELD GUAGE

On the pendulum arm with fixed top roller settings, place the draft field gauge 1, push the cross stops 2 of the gauge against the screw 3 of the weighting elements and fix the stops in this position by tightening their screws 4. Adjust all other arms on the machine to the same top roller settings by placing the gauge on the arm, pushing the screws of the weighting elements against the cross stops of the setting gauge and tightening the screws.
Do not allow weighting elements to get out of alignment while their screws are being tightened. It is advisable to hold the element against the direction of turning its screw.

HEIGHT GUAGE

Height adjustment with the height gauge can be made with the arms in any of its loading stages, but the same stage should be used on all arms. The use of Stage II is recommended. Place the height gauge on the arbor of the front top roller and push it in as far as the stop permits. With the gauge being held by a magnet, you will have both hands free for adjusting the height setting screw1.

By turning the screw 1 with the allen key, move the pendulum arm downward about the support rod until in visual inspection, the height gauge is seen to be parallel to the lower edge of the arm. Non-parallelism would produce a faulty setting for the arms and must be avoided. Set all the arms of the entire machine side in the same manner. Leave the arms in loaded condition.

Check the height of the arms to see if changes have occurred because of the resilience of the roller stands or other influences. Again place the height gauge on the arbor of the front top roller, push it in and made sure by visual inspection that it is still parallel to the arm. If necessary, readjust the height position of the arm. After checking, locate the arm in its height position by firmly tightening the locking screw 2.
